Anytime you're adding an amp means you'll be running speaker wires, power, ground. If you have a quick release on your tourpak, you will need to add some sort of coupling to be able to remove it. quick connects can be as simple or complex as you'd like. By plug and play, you will not be cutting into an of your factory wiring or disturbing the existing connectors. It's exactly as much work as what a "plug and play" system would be.

Totally agree with this assessment. Anytime you have to take off the gas tank, strip some wire and turn some wrenchs. Plug and play is out the window. I would go one step farther and tell you plug and play is more difficult than a normal set up depending on the harness configuration. If anyone has ever attempted to install the BOOM system from scratch they totally understand my point. Supposedly the KING of all plug a play systems. Right.

Glad to see my thread has gained some traction. I intend to install my amp and fairing speakers Sunday. It supposed to rain all weekend so perfect timing. I will take pictures of the project and post to the forum along with any trials and tribulations I encounter.

Consider using butt connectors over solder. Solder weakens the wire around the tin and will eventually break.

I have been slowly working through the process. Mounted the mm65's inside the pods using the same method that is posted on this forum and on YouTube. Here is a pic of my factory harness. I was able to run my 4 gauge power wires inside this rats nest.

I have it together and it sounds great. I do have a few little ****les though. I didn't hook up the remote wire on the b54 amp. Using the bt355 you need to turn it up a bit for the amp to kick on, and then it is loud when it kicks in. I am going to open her back up to add the wire. I also have the gain at about 6, that was fine using the accessory power but when the bike is running, it is a little too much gain. So hopefully after one additional tuning I will finally be done. Thanks for everybody's help.

Gains should always be finalized with the bike running.
