Default MTX Soundbar wiring question

I recently purchased an MTX soundbar. Neither myself or Hubby is very handy so I got my son-in-law's nephew to install it. He works as an auto mechanic for a car dealership and also does work on his own motorcycle so I was pretty confident in his ability. The soundbar works great playing music. I really love it but when I shut off the bike it doesn't power down. I have killed my battery twice because I forgot to check the power button. Should it power down? Can anyone tell me in layman's terms what I should do?

There should be 3 wires coming off it. Power, ground and an Accessory power. That ACC needs to be connected to a 12V power source that is switched with the ignition. Based on the manual for the unit, if you hold the power button down for 2 seconds it will shut off. Is that not working?

Oh yes that works as long as I remember to do it. I thought it should go off when you turn off the bike. Is that not the case?

it will go off with the bike if that ACC wire coming out of the sound bar is connected to a switched 12V source. My guess is that the ACC wire is connected to 12V constant. There isn't a wire schematic on the manual, the 3rd wire ought to be blue. That's the one that needs to go to an ignition activated power wire. That's easy to identify with a voltmeter, more difficult to tap into I'm guessing, given the model of bike you have. Baggers are easy.
