I think you went backwards with that move bro. The Rockfords are nowhere near what the Kappas are and they're over twice the price. I think this shop is taking advantage of you not knowing any better. That's my 2¢.

Not sure the model # of the scoche adapters that you have, but I have used the scoche adapters in my 2005 Batwing fairing and they work fine.
The part# I used was SAHD656. I haven't tried them with the Kappa's yet, but have used them with other 6.5" speakers. Kappa's on order, should be here in a couple days.

Your install shop has me concerned if they were not able to figure it out that the factory HD grills can remain in place. That is all I used with the Scoche adapters I used.
Good Luck

There is only 3 screw mounting holes with the Scoche adapter to avoid any issues with the bottom inside screw, but I can definitely understand the concern.

Hopefully they are smart enough to figure it out, or follow the instructions.

Yup but that doesn't mean the adapter can't be installed on the opposite side. Gotta buddy that wouldn't listen and went through the same thing at a car audio shop. He's gotta cute little hole in his freshly painted inner too.

That's too bad. I know the Scoche rings work fine if used properly, that is what I currently have in my bike. Scoche products were all I could find locally when I did my install on my batwing, I see the metra adapters seem to be more available online, and they look to have more mounting holes and seem to be much more versatile than the Scoche adapters.

Has anyone who installed kappa's in front fairing on a 2013 FLHTK run into this?

I attached a photo of what it looks like
Kappas installed with eastern performance adapters 5.25 to 6.5
This is how they should look o the viewing public.
Added the infinity logo from the kappas for looks.
Your install shop is clueless and reckless

I read a couple reviews on amazon that the fairing support brackets that mount to the speaker needed to be modified to use the metra adapters. Any truth to this? I'm looking at them for an 02 batwing fairing.
