Default Boom Audio Issues at Speed

I have a 2017 FLHXSE CVO Street Glide with the CVO Boom! Audio 6.5 system, which includes the stock front speakers and stock saddlebag speakers. In fact, the entire system is stock with exception of the system software, which has been upgraded to v1.21.2.1, and the amplifier software, which my local dealer just upgraded from rev. D to rev. E. Bike currently has ~13,500 miles. Everything with the audio worked GREAT for the first 11,000 miles, and I couldn't have been happier with the bike.

My issue, which started at about 11,000 miles, is the stereo sounds great sitting in my garage without the engine running. But once the engine is started, the audio would start to intermittently cut out. This would occur with all of the inputs (FM, Sirius XM, iPod connected to USB). I typically would have AVC = 4 and volume about midrange. When the audio started to cut out, if I increased the volume, it would improve slightly so the music came back, but you could still hear distortion and intermittent audio. But to get it to work, I was increasing volume to only a notch or two below max, which I never had to do. And then it was louder than I needed/wanted it, but it would do for highway touring, which is the majority of my riding.

I took the bike to the local dealer, but of course it didn't do anything while idling in their parking lot. I suggested they take it for a ride, which they did after I left, but they could not recreate the symptoms. They did update the amp software, and when I got the bike back, the problem seemed to have disappeared at low speeds, but is still present at high (highway) speeds. I'm thinking the problem is in the AVC circuit since issue occurs primarily when bike is running when background noise is higher.

I looked at the schematics for my bike in the CVO manual but do not see when there is an input for background noise to the AVC circuit. Does anyone know how that circuit works and if it could be the source of my problems? I'm not getting a Check Engine Light so I assume there are no trouble codes. Anyway, I rely on the audio A LOT and just want it back the way it was. I'm taking the bike back in later this week, but I don't have much hope the dealer will admit there's a problem. System is still under warranty.

Any thoughts or recommendations much appreciated!

I tried changing the AVC yesterday to see what impact it had. At the time, I was only going 30-45 MPH and the audio was not cutting out. The AVC appeared to work correctly, e.g. when I reduced the AVC, the volume decreased. Will do more investigation at higher speeds to see if reducing the AVC changes the symptoms. Thanks.

Process of elimination will be they key here so turn than AVC sucker totally off and use that as ur baseline.

I have boom 2 in my 16 Ultra Limited. With the latest update my volume level dropped when the engine was running. Riding at speeds 60mph and over made it doesn't difficult to hear the sound clearly than before the update. Took the bike to the dealer and they found that the front fairing amp went bad. This same amp was replaced in the Spring. My advice take your bike back to the dealer and have them check the history for codes. You might find you need an amp replacement. FYI I would not run AVC higher than 3 because it can also distort the sound. Just my suggestion.

Hey did you find out what the root cause was. My 17 CVo glide is now doing the same thing. Works fine when engine is off. Turn on engine and the interferenceis ther straight away. Disconnected rear speakers and amp with no change. Headlight out with no change. ACV off no change. Any help would be appreciated.
