Bruce ,,,,,

another option, although I admit it is not cheap, is to go with this ROKKER XXR Stage4 Extreme kit made specifically for your CVO Ultra Ltd ,,,, http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....30SP4-14UL-CVO ,,,,,,,

THEN ADD the Harley Boom lower speakers made for the water cooled lowers, and when you order the kit from J&M direct, we will configure the plug-n-play wiring harnesses for the Boom Lowers AND put our special DSP download into the ROKKER XXR 630w amp ,,,,,,

we do this special configuration repeatedly at shows all over the USA ,,,,,

please let us know anytime that we can be of service ,,,,,

Am I the only one that sees the elephant in the room. Is it really going to be like this again? Constant bombardment with links to unsolicited wares.

No one has answered your question.
So, the answer is YES, if you add 2 Boom Audio 2 speakers, you do need to add 1 amp.
The Boom Audio 2 speaker is actually 2 speakers in 1.
It has a tweeter (1) (75 watt) the small speaker at the edge and the regular speaker (1) (also 75 watt) in the middle equals 2 speakers.
One in the right lower's = 2 speakers. (150Watt)
One in the left lower's = 2 speakers (150Watt)
total added 4 speakers(300 watts)
Yes you need to add 1 amp to drive these speakers.
Plus they will not work unless the firmware (firmware, not software) is upgraded for the additional amp and speakers, and HD will have to do this.
CVO's come with the Boom Audio 2, system and the 6.5" touch screen display.
Other non-CVO models come with the Boom Audio System (no number, let's call it basic system). Some with the 4.5" screen some with 6.5" screen.
I have the Boom Audio 2 system, at 80mph, I can hear it, but I do not wear a helmet and I do wear earplugs and believe it or not, with the earplugs it helps keep out wind noise and for some reason I can hear the stereo fine.
But it is turned up 90% of the way.
My wife sits on the back (2016 Limited) and says she can hear the music fine, but mostly from the speakers in my fairing directed at her, more then the speakers at the seat, at her hips.
Ain't cheap, I get it, but neither was my bike.
Bought mine on black Friday at 20% off.

Thank you Jewild! My girlfriend and I both wear full face helmets and I wear custom ear plugs specifically made for motorcycle riding and to help prevent wind hearing damage. She hears the stereo fine at highway speeds but it washes out with me. However, I never run it at 90%! Maybe 70% I guess. My CVO's radio has a speed setting to adjust the volume when riding. I wonder if that has something to do with washing out the clarity? I don't know how else to explain it. All I can say is I'm not paying that kind of money for additional speakers & amps.....

The AVC has no effect when the sled is parked and in the accessory mode.
The AVC uses the wheel speed/Speedo to ramp up the volume only when moving.
