Wondering what is the best quality speaker wire out there? Does it even make a difference of brand as long as gauge is the same?

 

You want to go with OFC wire. It is solid copper verses copper clad. OFC is the design not the manufacturer.

 

Oxygen free copper I assume? What about size I believe 16 should be good enough or should I drop to 14 or even 12?

 

16 ga was recommended to me with what I am running. I will go bigger once I change out amps pretty soon. By the way what are you running for a system?

 

Nothing special. Kenwood kmrd368bt ,SS PN4.520 amp and jm rokker speakers 7.25 front and 5.25 rear. I got an awesome deal on them so I jumped for them. I have heard others say they suck for the money but they are way better than stock and good enough for now, till have I can afford better system. Gonna have bike all apart this winter so I want to upgrade wiring for future when tank and fairing are off. Just used a boss kit when I did initial install and read wiring makes a difference so I will change it all to good stuff

Thanks for the link. Makes it easier to narrow down brands when I'm given one. From what I read it sounds like stinger 4000 rca's are the best also?

No. But the 8 ga speaker wire is great to use for power and ground when running it under your gas tank. It just makes it easier to just run one wire
