Default Thinking of swapping my Arc Moto 6x9s for some 8's...But which ones?

Aloha guys! I need some suggestions again. I'm thinking of swapping out my Arc Moto 6x9's for a set of 8" speakers. Probably gonna use the American Hardbag mounting kit. Their site is recommending the Diamond Audio HXM8, but was wondering if there were better options that would work with my bridged NVX MVPA4 (175 Watts/2 CH).

My current setup (Yeah, I'm a couple years behind some of your setups):

BT4180 ---> BT 7.1s and Pioneer Pros 6900 in the lids
NVX MVPA4 ---> Arc Moto 6x9s in the bags
Sony XAV AX100 HU

I'm pretty satisfied with this setup, so if you guys think swapping out the bag speakers might not be worth the $$$ compared to the outcome, please talk me out of it. Haha!

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't use either of those over what you have right now for the cost. If I were to put 8's inside the bags it would be PRV's and we can make you custom rings to match the shape of the speaker. Check out this thread for some pics and vids.

Not trying to hijack the tread, but does that NVX fit on the BT brackets?

The ahb setup with the diamond is solid. Cpbedor is running it in his bags and it sounds great.

Not a problem. You're pushing the Moto 692's with that amp. The PRV's will be a piece of cake.

Aloha Tundra!!!!

Lots of options!!! Based on ur system I would throw some inexpensive Crescendo PWX 8s in the bags and focus on your fairing. U move past the 7.1 tier in your fairing and ur entire world will change.

Those Crescendos are damn cheap, "right sized" for inside the bags, have solid specs for your avail power, and sound solid in that location. Start shopping for a 3/4 to 1" thick sheet of plastic or even wood product u can weather treat (paint) and make ur own custom spacer/bracket. Use a step drill and make a fairly liberal hole pattern in the 8" footprint. Install treated speaker cloth against the inside wall of ur bag with adhesive spray (3M Super 77), install the bracket over that then mount ur speaker.

U just saved about 500 bucks to put into your fairing.

If u have a money tree, call AHB and tell them to lick the stamp and send u the brackets cause they are damn good!!!

The Diamond are solid speakers full range speakers, just not gonna be the best for what u are trying to accomplish.

Everything I've heard about those PWX is that they are more midrange than midbass.
