Unit,
I can't answer all your questions but what I can tell you is that the mm652's do fit right into the rear pods on my 2012 and they sound pretty good as well. I put a thin layer of polyfill inside the pod too and they still fit. I bought 2 sets of the cvo grills, one I'm having issues with the sv's but the other set went right over the 652's and fit nicely in the rear pods. Also you will have to drill new holes for the polks to mount up and if your using the stock speaker wires you have reverse the clips, the factory speakers positive and negative are backwards.
Did you get grills with the sv's? Mine did not come with any.
Hope this helps....

redwood, yeah moded my cheap pods out so the 165.1 ones fit now but the grills dont, they might with a spacer. I also got different grills than the cvo which are said to fit but i haven't confirmed that yet. (part # 76000324)

That part # is the part number from the 2014 kit that does fit over the speakers from what Mike sent me. I have 76000065 that they say fits but no go for me. I'm going to call today to see if he has gotten the parts yet.
So you ground away a little from the egde of the rim of the pod and the speaker drops all the way in now..... No spacer? Because that was going to be my plan if we can't find what is different here.
Thanks!

Yeah thas what i had to do, if you set the speaker in and wiggle it around you can see right on the speaker cage below the mounting flange where it is rubbing. I basically bevelled the edge till the speaker sat flush. I know that part num is for rear speaker covers but was told he asked the dealer and saw it at dealer mounted in lowers but i have not confirmed yet my self but at half the price worth a shot to me.

OK... That's my situation, I measured the pod openings and the widest part of the speaker frame and it looks about an 1/8 of an inch difference. I don't want to take too much off but I figure about a 1/16 bevel all around might get it done and hopefully no spacer. Looks like that's exactly what you did.
My grills fit inside the pods but not over the speaker so I was gonna grind those down 1/4 so the sit on top of the speaker and screw them down. I just emailed bt so I'll see what they found out. I'm thinking I'll have to hope the dealer takes these grills back and will exchange them for the part # you have and hope they match my rears since those are already installed.

That's a big help. I will just go with the 652's instead of the component 6502's. Cheaper & don't have to worry about mounting crossovers.
As far as the grills, my Hertz 165.1's didn't come with them, however I was told that one or more of the Hertz grills do work. I'm just getting so overwhelmed with research, im getting confused as hell!!! Do you have a part# for the CVO grills?
Thanks for the help!

OK been a while so I have an update, not a complete one but it's an update.
So bt is still waiting on parts that are expected today so in the meantime I got impatient and did what army did and beveled the outer edge of the pod rim and did infact get my sv's to drop into the pods and sit flush with no spacer! So we are good there. As I said before Mike sent me a pic of speaker grill part # 76000324 sitting over the top of the sv, this is a rear pod grill and not confirmed that it will sit inside the lower pod yet. If not I will make the grill I have work which is part #76000065. This grill does not fit over the sv as said it has in the past??? But does sit inside the lower pod. I should have more info in the next couple days.
