MM652 tour pack install questions
Working on a 2015 Ultra Limited.
Any input on how to get the speaker spaced out far enough for internal clearance in the pod? I searched on here and did not find anything. Thanks |

They dropped right in my 13 Limited rear pods after rotating them a bit. Just have to be clocked correctly and they should mount flush. My 13 had 5.25" rear speakers also not the 6.5" on rushmores

Thanks and ride safe, brother.

They fit just fine back there. On some models you need to rotate the speaker just so the back of the speaker clears the volume controls on the right side or any factory installed parts. But the do fit fine. No need for new holes just rotate to line up with the next hole.
Look at the pics below and you will see the why. On some RARE instances I have had to use 1/4-1/2” spacers but that’s rare and because there were aftermarket light controllers installed in the buckets. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...9141a3733.jpeg |
Also, I read somewhere that HD reversed the size of the +/- connectors from what everyone else uses. Will I need to change the connectors for correct polarity if I use the stock speaker wires?
|
On Some bikes that is true. Look at the wiring diagram for the bike and it will show you what color/polarity is used for the bike wiring.
I always make it a habit to test the polarity of the factory wiring. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come across them being factory wired wrong vs the diagram. That’s the main reason most of my installs have new wire run. |

How far did you have to rotate them? Were you able to use the existing mounting holes? If not, did you just drill new holes or did you have to use U-nut clips?

Possible solution
I think I can just trim all of the “tabs” off of the flush mount that comes with the speakers and that will give me the room I need. Should know tomorrow. |
