Installed them the other night. Sounds good to me and definitely sounds way better than stock.

Used hogtunes gen 3 6.5s and RF PBR300x4. Sounds pretty good even at 80mph on the freeway. I'll be adding 6x9s in the lids hopefully this weekend.

Have a RF T400x4 on it's way. Decided to switch simply for the cooling fans. Wiring is not my strong point so I went with RF's wiring kit and amp mount. Worth the price to me.

So far, didn't break the bank, but I wasn't going for a show stopping stereo to begin with. Just enough to be able to hear the music clearly since I don't wear my hearing aids while riding.

Update to this.

Quickly blew one of the Hogtunes speakers. They were easy to deal with and replaced it. Just re-installed the speaker up front. I switched to the TM400x4 amp, barely have the gain up, and the system is quite loud. I added some Kicker 6x9s to the lids. All around, I am very pleased.


Now can someone tell me if a reflash is a must? Can't seem to get a solid answer on this.

 

Are you using the BT355 Line Levelers?

 

 

You can't run aftermarket audio on a Rushmore without a BT355 or some sort of DSP. Next time it'll be your amp that goes up in smoke. And make sure your AVC is off.

If you want the ability to fade you'll need 2 as well as the Ultra flash from the dealer.

 

Do you need the line leveler if you’re only running the two fairing speakers? Thinking of doing this upgrade, don’t know if I need the BT355 or not for just two speakers...?
