Sony HU MEX70 BT custom EQ settings
ok so I dont have the hearing I once had but, Im trying to set the EQ on my HU and am not sure what I like. I am using Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb to set my EQ and when I was done all but a couple settings were at +6 and the others were still in the + settings.
HPF is at 80 slope 1 and Loud is off.
Just wondering what some of you guys are running.

Cfave,
Got these settings from Gann a while back they work pretty good on my MEX-M70BT.
Try these settings on the HU:
Press Menu. Turn the dial to the right until you see "set sound"
Push the **** in and it will say EQ 10 Setting.
Push the **** again and it will say " Set Base"
Turn **** clockwise and it will display Band 1
Push **** and it will display +/- DB
Turn **** left or right to adjust DB
Band 1 +4 DB
Band 2 +6 DB
Band 3. +6 DB
Band 4 +4 DB
Band 5 +5 DB
Band 6. +4 DB
Band 7 +4 DB
Band 8. +6 DB
Band 9. +6 DB
Band 10 +6 DB
Also make sure the DSEE IS ON AND THE C+ AUDIO IS OFF
Loudness - OFF
RBE (Rear Bass Enhancer) - OFF
AAV (Advanced Auto Volume) - OFF
HPF (High Pass Frequency) set at 80 slope 1

eq tune
Love my floyd but I wouldn't use that to tune too.. You want something that hits hard like motleycrue wild side or do a search for preferred songs to set gains too. Tuning this to optimum by ear will take some time cause once you have gains set thats just half the equation. Once you start increasing eq frequency then that can put you over the top on gains which destroys the speakers. So the ideal is find which song in your library that slams the hardest and tune to that, then all else should be safe.

Try Van Halen. Dreams, Jump, good mid bass. I'm not sure on the Sony, but the KW 998, you can try a preset EQ setting then go to manual, and he we see how the preset EQ was achieved (settings). Find the preset you like and tweek it from there! I would always start at flat and tweek from there. Take Gans EQ settings, if you can imagine that all his EQ settings that are 4 were set at flat (0) and the 6 settins were +2 from flat you will achieve the same EQ curve by just increasing the master volume ****...4 would be flat... 6 would be +2 using volume to increase dynamics!

I pulled my Sony MEX-GS620-BT out of my boat and installed it in my bike. I have HCX-165 in the fairing and SP CM 6.5 in the lowers being pushed by Arc 600.4. Dialed in to these settings and wow, it made the system come alive. Only question I have is the settings on the amp. Do I put it in full and what about the cross on the amp?
