Default Frequency response at 2ohm vs 4ohm, dual amps, tweeter horns

Hi All,

I thought I read somewhere on here that running an amp at 2ohm (vs 4ohm) lowers frequency response. Is this true or did I dream it?

I am currently running 4 Hertz HCX 165 (fairing and lowers) off one channel at 2ohms and Polk MM1 6x9's off the rear channel (focal sport amp). I have a second amp (SS PN 4.520) and was thinking about running the Hertz off the focal and the Polk's off the SS amp (bridged 2 channel). Thoughts?

Also, Do you guys think this setup would benefit from running a set of horns in the gauge holes? Or would it be overkill with 4 HCX's?

Thanks in advance,

Leo

PS) This is on a 2013 street glide running a Sony HU (don't remember the model).

Never heard that running amp at 2 ohms lowers frequency response. Running the 4 Hertz off the Focal's 4 channels is a good move IMO! Adding the 520 bridged is also a good idea, but that's a lot of power for those speakers, just be careful with the gain settings! If you have enough highs with the 4 tweeters no need for horns...hard to tune horns without running them on there own amp or channel or using a DSP...looks like you slipped through the cracks...lol...hope this helps
