Yeah, from what I've read, that DD AW/AT combo is highly recommended. My biggest concern is how to mount the tweets without drilling holes in my fairing or sacrificing gauges on my Road Glide. Do those need crossovers too?

Were you referring to JL's marine amp M400/4?

If so that combo might be a bit pricey for me at over $1000 without amp mount, adapter rings, etc. Good suggestions though! Thx!

Wow, I never thought of that! Thanks MM. It doesn't sound like I'll have many other options than the BT2180 and 7.1s without learning how to tune an amp then.

Any other suggestions for coaxial speakers to pair with the BT2180 from anyone? Tailwind? Gann?

If u can get confirmation that the DB WDXMotos fit in the RG pods I can honest say that this speaker is a top notch coax speaker.

Get a B52 on a budget or a JL500x4 as the Cadillac, and u will be in very good shape.

Those Speaks run well in full pass so it's just a matter of setting the gains and we will make certain u get all the assistance possible to get everything installed and dialed in.

It will be a fun challenge but when u r done u will very very glad u left the option of amp dials on the table.

Thanks T. I was concerned about those tweeter fitting under the grills too. I've asked on a RG forum and also requested info on dimensions from DB. Was hoping the adapter rings would help with clearance, but need confirmation prior to purchasing. If the DBs won't fit I maybe I should go with the Arc Motos? I may just have to face my fears and ignorance of amp tuning and take the plunge.

I just took a look at the JL website. I'm assuming you meant the MX500/4, and further assumed you meant in bridged mode (@ 250w)? Would that be too much power for those speakers? I'd hate to fry 'em.

I'm no where near you, but I bet someone is close enough to help you out.

Don't worry about the "too much power" thing as long as u have an amp with gain controls. These afford u the opportunity to provide the power you desire. Better to have a ton of power u can regulate vs not enough power to even meet the minimum speed limit.
