I know at least one of the gurus is on a pre Rushmore. Someone should be able to give you an idea of max depth. The adapters I saw I don't think would have any trouble accommodating the tweeter protrusion.
I just got off the phone with Biketronics. Their adapters measure in at 7/8" thick. A little on the pricey side, but they should accommodate those tweeters. Not sure about cheaper brands. One listed on Amazon listed 2", which I think is bogus or unrealistic for fitment.
Ok, so the WDX6MOTOS are a go, with the BT adapters at least. Now on to amp selection. Found a very budget friendly Massive BLX44-M. Anyone familiar with this unit? Screaming deal, but I'd rather pay more for the JL if it's just so-so.
Of the box they come in. You didn't post a link so it's had to help. For some reason I actually took the time to search Amazon, and the one with a 2 inch dimension in the description I found said 7x7x2, sounds like a box. Good luck on the install.

Link to that amp. Looks to be similar specs to the JL MX500/4.

Ok, well, hearing no warnings I went with the Massive amp in a package deal from sporkcustoms. Just started in on the installation today, beginning with the DB speakers. First off, the cloth on my speaker grills were quite faded with age. I mistakenly ordered the Hawg Wired grills instead of the Hogg Tunes grills with the plastic insert. Worked out well, as I'd ordered some speaker cloth on Amazon and was able to sandwich that between the stock grills (after peeling off the old cloth) and the Hawg Wired grills.
The BT adapters also gave plenty of space for those protruding tweeters without the need to remove the tweeter grills. Speakers and grills are in with no fitment problems there so far. Now on to the amp.
