Rockford DSR1 Install Help
Has anyone here personally installed the Rockford DSR1 in a 2014+ Glide?
I have a 4 channel amp, new pro audio speakers and factory radio has been flashed for 4 speakers, no amp.
I've been getting different answers on what exactly I need to install this. One reputable online dealer told me I need a 4 channel LOC; another reputable dealer told me I need $200 in "harnesses" that they create with built in load resistors that "simulate the factory speakers/amplifier so that your factory Harley radio will produce a consistent unclipped (clean) signal to the DSR1".
I've installed audio in cars for many years; but do I legitimately need $200 in harnesses to install this on my bike? I have 2 harnesses similar to this one (1 for front and 1 for rear):
I have it from another company for the front and rear... The same company that sold it to me, then after I asked for a 2nd time, came back and told me I now needed to spend $200 in a LOC and another harness for the DSR1; despite telling them I needed everything to connect a DSR1 to the bike.
If you have installed one before, what did you do to get the DSR1 to work with the radio? Did you use one of these types of harnesses or did you use a LOC? If you used a LOC, which one and what did you connect it to?

check this page out https://www.americanhardbag.com/page...load-resistors.
that being said, the dsr1 has high level input capability, i just read the install instructions and while it shows rca connectors going into the unit, the switch tells the unit whether or not to run high level or low level input, so that being said, wire in your resistors, should be pretty cheap for the resistors, at that point you can use some sort of loc to convert to rca's if you want, or you can trim off the rca connector from the input harness and connect your speaker leads directly to the wires on the input harness and set your selector switch to high level....if i'm not mistaken RF has short little speaker harnesses, pre-made that have the stock style molex connector that would plug into the stock bike harness and convert to an rca end if you did't want to trim the ends on the input harness to the DSR1...wheather or not the signal is hi or low level is the important thing( bassed on switch position), some people just get unsure about cutting things up. if it were me, and i was not looking to spend any more money than i had to, i would get the resistors and wire them into the stock harness, trim the connectors from both the bike and the dsr1 harness and make the connections, then confirm that the switch was set on hi level input.

ARC Audio also has a suggestion to wire in these resistors,,,https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/02...86227580707831
