Parallel vs Separate

When you wire a component set (tweeter, xover, woofer) together on one channel does the tweeter and xover effect the signal quality and wattage to the woofer? How beneficial would it be to separate them on different channels?

No that is what a good passive x-over is for that is engineered for that particular tweet and woofer... to channel the proper frequencies to the tweeter and the mid bass woofer, without effecting performance of either one! No need for separate channels with a good component set!

How are you going go cross them over if you bi-amp them? The crossover usually only has one input.

Not to mention you'd be pushing a lot of power to a little tweeter. Not good IMO

Some xovers are set up for bi amp. Then the wattage can be set different for each the tweeter and woofer. With most 6.5” components the xover is only there for the tweeters and the woofer can be fed direct with the hp filter on the amp.

I was researching active vs passive xovers and read a few articles about the affects of passive xovers on amp output but not sure how much that really applies to real word.

True. You could use the amp to cross it over or just put a cap inline on the highs, easy 5 dollar fix. How much power you pushing?
