Hertz MPX 165 or SV165/ST25 with SD800.4
woukd like to hear everyone’s input on this. Fixing to install an SD800.4 and SD400.4. Currently have MPX 165’s in fairing with SS Picasso 540 and hcx 570’s in lids. Terrible I know. So do I keep the MPX’s in or switch to SV165/ST25? Already swapping HCX for VO 6x9 and B3. Just asking which hertz setup in fairing would sound best. Pretty sure I know the answer, just need to be pushed over the edge lol.

Get a set of hcx 165's if you can find them. They are not near as crisp and don't have ear piercing highs like the milles. Now for the back, get a set of milles 6x9's. I know it sounds strange but the mille690.3 are just about the best 6x9 right now. The hcx 6x9's have screaming highs and the milles 165.3 have screaming highs but the hxc 165's and the mille 690.3 have a lot better, warmer sound.

Max are you running a sound processor? You are going to need one to adjust the crossovers on that amp. Also if you have a sound processor (that you will need) then you can adjust and EQ each speaker whether you think they are too bright or perhaps need more highs, or tune the low end. I also think SV165 are way overpriced for what you get and would never run them.

Yes I am planning to run the DSR1. As far as the SV’s go, I went ahead and got a set but havent got the STs yet. May run the B3 in the fairing as well as lids. Lot cheaper however I was a bit cautious because with b3s in fairing and lids because everyone says they are very bright.
