Is or has anyone tried running the JL Audio MHD600/4 amp?
Yea a bit pricy but just wondering ....

The HD line draws way too much power for a bike. You’d need to run an extra battery to get your moneys worth out of that amp. The reason the Xd’s do so well at only 75w per channel is due to their efficiency. |
That's interesting Haze - according their their website statement it says it should draw less power
"In addition to the sonic benefits of Single Cycle Control Class D, the technology also results in outstanding efficiency (80% at 1/2 rated power for the whole amplifier, including its power supply), which translates to 60% less current draw than a typical Class A/B car amplifier of equal power. This tremendous efficiency advantage also leads to less generated heat which allows the chassis size to be reduced to about 1/4 the size of a similarly powerful Class A/B design." |

Thanks - shows you what I know, or don't know...

That amp has a very flexible output and plenty of power for most systems.
The JL 600/4 does start to get warm when you start to push it hard. The sound quality is very good as is the rest of the JL line. EDIT I am also running the 600/4 ,600/6 on 1 battery on a stock charging system and my voltage DOES NOT go below 13.5 at high volume |
