Saddlebag amp wiring advice
Howdy all,
I have just dropped of my HogTunes lids to my painter so I will be looking to order parts for that setup on my 2010 UC. I am looking to buy an RF TM400xad to mount in the front of the clutch side bag to run the ADs in the rear pods on one channel and the 6x9s on the other.
I have gotten some ideas from folks about running the power and speaker wires through the side of the bags but I was wondering how y'all get the RCA patch cables through there? I have gotten recommendations for bulkhead connectors but there seems to be a million different types.
If anyone has kept a parts list from their own experiences I would be grateful for any recommendations.

So I ordered one of these the first time I put an amp in the bag. Admittedly, it was pricey, but it was well thought out, put together well, and ultimately did the trick. A little silicone in the fitting after all the wires were pulled and it was all good. Now after seeing the parts on my bench before install, you could put all this together much cheaper than the kit from AHB.
Anderson connectors for power
Deutsch or weatherpak for speaker and remote wires.
RCA double barrel connectors for RCA's. Don't forget to tape them up. They'll vibrate loose if you don't.
Make it all neat and quick disconnect for bag removal.
Wrap everything In tech flex or tesa tape and silicone the entry into the bag. I can't remember for the life of me what the stainless steel thing is called but they can be found online at amazon and the sort.
I put all my disconnects behind the left side cover and notched a square out of back corner of cover to go towards bag. Side cover notch can't be seen unless bag is off and it keeps everything out of the weather.
Good luck

Thanks y'all, that got me started in the right direction.
As far as mounting the amp, I was thinking about attaching it to the front slope of the bag. Would Velcro do OK for that?
Also I forgot to ask is there enough room to mount those connections under the clutch side saddlebag? Since I use the brake side bag the most I thought about mounting everything in the clutch side.

I had a soundigital mounted with velcro for a few months and never had an issue with it coming off. As far as mounting connections under the saddlebag, I probably wouldn't just for weather concerns. Either hide them in the side cover or between bag and wheel zip tied up and out of the way from the belt.

I ordered one of those marine clamshells for the wiring. I think I may use RCA to XLR cables for the preamp output so I can unplug it behind the side cover for removal but it will stay connected while riding.
I was wondering about how to leave cable slack so I can lift the saddlebag out and then remove the side cover to unhook everything. Does anyone have some pics as to how the extra wire was routed and secured for riding?
