Default Help me choose which 6 Channel Amp

Hey Folks,
I'm thinking of switching to a 6 channel amp for my rear stage instead of running 2 amps. I'm looking at the DD D6.500, the JL 600/6 or the Mmats HIFI6150. SQ, price and power draw are the things that i'm looking for more info about. I do understand that they are all great amps, but never having used any of them, I would like to draw on the experience of others that have. There rear set up is 6.5 pa's in the T/P pods, Hertz MPX690's in the lids and PRV 8MB600FT's in the bags, with DSP. Tried ArcMoto600.4, didn't like the sound, Mmatts MD4100, again didn't like the sound, currently running RF TM400x4ad and like the sound quality, but mroe volume would be nice. Tried all different configs with the amps and amp currently running the 6x9's and 8's with the RF and a small 90watt Focal to drive the T/p's, but would like to consolidate it all to 1 amp, so thinking about a 6 channel. My worry is that the JL might not have enough power to drive the 8 ohm 8's well and the Mmatts is pricey, and NO experience with the DD amp. The other main concern is how much power draw the amp will have when I only have a 50 amp stator set up, good battery and have a Stinger audio battery to try out to, but the stator only can produce so much. There is not a lot of technical data that i have been able to find about average amp draw vs max draw. Can anyone help shed some light or advice?
Thanks
Marco

I think you just have too many mix matching speakers man. The 6150 is complete over kill for that. You can power an entire bike if set up correctly. The 600/6 is plenty for pro-audio speakers but at 75w@ 4ohm not enough for those 6X9's. I think you're issues are more of your set up design as opposed to what amp to use. Never tried the DD amp but generally speaker watt for watt the JL amps are louder so at 500 I'd scratch that.

i have the DD Vo 6x9's, but the Hertz sounded lots better with less power and I did not need the DD B3 horn bridge that i made for that set up. the hertz actually sound very good with the advertised 100 watts that they get from the RF. I'm always open to set up design ideas and direction! I'ts just that everyone always says to try it and see, and I do understand that. I have done it, tried 4 different POPULAR 6x9's and the Hertz sound the best with the least power. I'm really happy with the front set up, I'm trying to consolidate and clean up the rear. all the amps and dsp are in the tourpack, so i was hoping to clean up that area for the final install, vs the test out and see what i like set up. volume wise the 6x9's and the 8's are close, i'm getting more bottom end from the 8's and it's a nice compliment/fill for what the 6x9s cant get to. If i can get the same SQ and volume from 1 amp, i can drastically clean up the install and move more usable space in the tourpack which is the goal vs getting more sound volume and SQ out of the deal. If I can get to the same or better with one amp vs 2 for the rear.
thanks for the input so far.

There is also a thread going on right now about the micro GZ amps.
Hell throw 2 of those in the fairing with the RF.

the bike is an 04 Ultra and does not have the same room in the fairing as the newer bikes, so micro's wont really get the job done realistically. In all honestly the Vo 6x9s did not sound any better with more than 125 watts to them to me in my set up, several different amps from 100-300 watts. The main goal here is consolidation, if I can get improvement, GREAT, but i really just want to keep at least the same volume and SQ as i have with less hardware.

There are a few guys running 3 amps in the fairing on the 13 and down bike.
1 amp is a 600/6
1 amp is a JL 280/4
and another small micro
They are using an aftermarket HU also.

Just have to be creative with placement.

If u have the cash and the space, that JL 800/8 will get u high quality watts for ur 2 sets of PAs 1/2, 3/4, and the 6x9s can get fed not only high quality watts but also lots of them bridged off 5/6 and 7/8.

Marco I think your issue is you are trying to solve a problem in a vacuum vs. the collective of the entire system. If you were my customer and asked to solve your problem - which I read it as consolidation of amps, power draw, and configuration then I would tell you. Get a 6150 in your tourpack, chan 1&2 to your tweeters (highs) chan 3&4 to all your 6.5 (midrange) chan 5&6 use the same speakers in your lids and inside the bags (lows). Then you have a DSP with 6 channels that you can tune L/R stereo for highs, mids, lows. This is just one approach but I think you get the concept.
