Thanks everyone with the advice. I ordered the PN4 1000d and Hertz HCX last night from Amazon. Marshall - hopefully I don't get screwed, but guess I'll find out next week. I got the BT355 from another forum member, so outside of wires/cables I think I'm good? From another thread if I understood DSM Limited correctly, the speakers will fit with stock grills and without modding the pod.

Sad part is you probably won't know until the smoke is out.

Just to be clear OP, the HCX's fit in my pods. My bike is a 14 Limited and uses the white colored pods. I don't know what year your bike is, but the way I understand it, the black colored pods don't work without modding the mounting lip. There is suppose to be some clearance issues with the newer pod, where the suspension of the woofer will hit the inner fairing or grill.

I have a ‘14 SGS. Guess I’ll find out once I take it apart...hopefully I’ll get lucky. Thanks!

I bet you luv the HCXs. I got mine from Amazon, from high rated supplier. Focus on supplier to minimize risk of any fake.

I’m super excited to hear it all put together. Seller has 99% over the past 12 months with >3000 reviews. Fingers crossed.

Knuconcepts is a good source for wiring... Not sure what gauge wire that amp will take. I suggest 16 gauge OFC twisted pair speaker wire,. 8 gauge power and ground with an inline fuse ( check amp spec's on power and ground gauge) and 1.5ft RCA Male / Male connector cable, Stinger is popular, I used Knuconcepts. Enjoy the upgrade and the ride
