Sony XAV5000 first impressions

Rockford Fosgate is working on a direct replacement for the boom hu. From what I have been told they are still about 9mo to a year out. I haven't tried any other double din unit but if the sony will work, im sure others will too.

Here's my point, this is quote from ARC Audio DSP PSM at bottom of Description:
"HD MOTORCYCLE APPLICATION TECHNICAL BULLETIN
If you ae planning on using the PSM on any 2014+ HD Motorcycle please note that the Factory HD radio has crossovers built into the factory HD radio which will limit the frequency response from your factory source below 100Hz. Much like any DSP or amplifier on the market the PSM can only reproduce and correct signals that are provided to it. As such the PSM cannot create specific frequencies and can only process frequencies of signal that are being provided to it from your source. "
That is why I'm giving the Sony a run down for the next few months, before I think about selling the stock 6.5 HU. Yes the stock 6.5 was way better than before, and yes it has many features that are good from HD. But after spending money for upgraded Boom audio equipment amps and speakers, and hearing the SQ, I was sadly disappointed in that investment. The Sony sound is awesome, and does almost everything the stock unit did, and 10 times faster!
I think people have tried to put the Kenwood and Pioneer double din in the bikes, but there are more fit problems from what I've read so far.

I put in the SonyXAV-AX 5000 with the NVX 400 amp and Infinity speakers up front,,, NVX 400 fits nicely in the clutch side cubby next to the radio,,,and and Polks in the saddle bags with/Dual-Electronics-XPR82D-2-1 amp,, couldn't be happier,,, with the EQ and secondary sound adjustments its really a great alternative to spending a boat load of money,,has great bass and and adjustable,,,,,,love it
