There is really no reason why an older iPod would not work with the radio. If Harley is intentionally preventing this, they they are just being bigger d holes that they already are for preventing CarPlay to work right out of the box on these. The BT has nothing to do with making CarPlay work. This is just Harley making you buy parts you don't even need.
