So I disconnected the speaker wires from the amp and ran the speakers straight to the harness that runs into the bike on each side for the stock speakers so not powered by the amplifier And there was no popping sound.

The turn on switch is on REM I believe and I moved it to all the other different positions and it didn’t change anything

It sure was sounding like it was the amp but you never know. Well now you have an excuse to upgrade.

I would buy new rca cables if you havnt already. I have a buddy that had similar issue and replaced the RCA's from head unit going to the amp with new ones and problem solved. He did all that you have mentioned as well...Very inexpensive fix.

Try the return via amazon. I've warrantied audio things from them and certainly worth a try.
