Considering trying a set of the WDX6 Gen2 in the fairing of my 05 Ultra. What do you guys recommend to pair with them in the lowers, a second set of the WDX6 Gen2?

How much of a relief hole did you have to cut? Do you think a guy could use a heat gun to manipulate the pod enough in the relief area to squeeze the speaker in there without cutting them?

I’ve got a set of WDX6MOTO-G2's arriving tomorrow that I’m pairing with a DB Drive Neo4 amp in my ‘18 SG. I also have a BT355 line leveler I’m adding. I’ll report back about the install.

Got my HU flashed to the RF flash yesterday. Rode around a bit. Man, I really like the fullness of these speakers! I did not get a chance to test them with a helmet, though. Anyway, I can hear a lot more detail in the music even at 60 mph. Haven't gotten out on a long 80+ mph test yet. So far, I am very happy with mine. I also want to adjust the tune a little bit. Will also see have to see how well these hold up.

Would love to hear them. Do you ever get up to the Hideaway or Roadhouse on the weekend?

I don't too often ride to the eastern side. I'll drop a note if I get that way once they're installed..

I bought a heat gun with the intention of doing that. It didn't work for me. It was a comedy to watch but not funny to endure. Those harley pods, the heavy black ones, is some tough stuff. I was burning and blistering it but wasn't making much headway moving it. Good luck if can do it. I just got fed up and grabbed my dremel.

You can do it with heat, but it does take awhile.

I had heard from one of the Moto installers that he has managed to heat them and manipulate them just got enough to squeeze the Gen 1s into the pods, but wasn't sure if the Gen 2 were any bigger.
