Mike, are you running the hertz tweeters and crossovers with your mlk's? If you are, do the tweeters get harsh at real high end? I ask as I am running the beyma ast 50 horns with a 2500 capacitor and no crossovers and I have to back them down a bit to blend well. I have not been a fan of passive crossovers in the past.

Ok. I see their setup has an inline capacitor also. Smart move and I bet that sound amazing. Thanks for the info.

This is with infinity 5x8’s in my lids, not my current 6x9’s. But it is with the same amp and HCX’s in the fairing.

Sounds like you have your amp set wrong. Mine are over 2 years old now, and are perfect. What amp are you running?

I ran the Mpx 165.3 pros for a year and a half, never had a issue with them, just switched to the Mls.

3rd time is a charm?

Stating the obvious, 99.9% of the time Hertz shix only blows up due to operator error.

Just sayin.

Take the time to get ur stuff set up in the intended sandbox and it will perform at it optimum levels and last for a long damn time.

Not to jump on the bandwagon, 3rd year with HCX in the fairing. Never a glitch in that time. I've run 125-150watts for all that time. The only thing I can figure is either too much power, volume above your max tune setting or too much distortion. If you run the volume up too high while cruising, you may not hear the distortion.

How much power going to them and where are your x-overs at? If you try to cross too low, they'll distort.
