Sony AX5000 users, any regrets?

No regrets at all. I do like the boom mp3 file folder better than the sony but I got use to how to setup 800+ tunes on the sony. Don't use gps and don't care where the closest HD dealership is. I have a phone for that. What I do like is the SQ and features from the sony as it is by far better than the boom. Keep in mind that the boom HU is still manufactured by harmon kardon and all of us changed out those HK head units from the pre rushmore bikes because of the added features and SQ. Same with the boom system IMHO.

No regrets here at all with my Biketronics setup. Got it before they raised the price and also used the forum discount. SQ is amazing with the EQ and the BT setup is very nice with the magnet cover. Sold my 6.5GT and line leveler to offset most of the BT setup cost. Win win all the way around for me and I'd do it again in a heartbeat if needed.

Thanks guys! I was going to go with Fathead, looked online and they are sold out, tried to call and got an answering machine. Called Biketronics talked with sales lady found out that they offer 15% off for veterans. Placed my order with a company that supports veterans. Heads up though 3-4 week wait now, get your order in asap!

100Wx4 max (45W RMSx4). That's over 3x's RMS power of the factory HU and the AX5000. I may be waiting for the 7000 as well!

I'm guessing that if you go this route and install this unit (from whomever), you're running your own speaker leads from the back of the Sony and bypassing the Harley wiring. Or does the control unit (whichever one your vendor uses) interface with the bike so it retains the stock wiring? I'm more curious about how this would be connected on an Ultra Limited; I have a Biketronics BT2180 amp on my Boom! 6.5GT currently, and that came with a 'breakout harness' that retains the stock speaker wiring connections (most importantly, the Tour Pak speaker connections) and gets fed via the BT355 Line Levelers.
So far, I can only find videos from Fathead Cycles showing the install on a Street Glide and WITHOUT an amp in the configuration. I don't want to be cutting wiring if I can avoid it, but want to retain the BT amp if I go this route. If anyone has some info, that would be handy.
