Default Cerwin Vega B54 Amp

Can you keepers of knowledge weigh in on this question for me please?

I'm setting up some DD VO6x9's in some Hogtunes lids (2012 Ultra Limited) and I'm looking for an amp to power them.

I currently have a Sony head unit with speakers in the fairings and lowers powered by a PA RZ2000d that is like the Soundstream model.

I don't think it's enough to power all six speakers from what I've read here so thinking about a B54 to run the DDs in the lids. It's small so I may be able to mount it in my fairing with the other one and people seem to think well of it.

Thoughts?

Any reason you're looking at the b54 instead of the b52?

I would suggest the NVX VADM4. It's very small, run it bridged to those DD VO6x9's. I have it mounted as a 2nd amp in the fairing of a 2012 Street Glide.

I would run the CV B54 bridged to those 6x9's (that is me thought)
B54 bridged equals 300 watts each @ 4 ohm
B52 equals 150 watts watts each @ 4 ohm

Pretty much the same footprint. the B54 is a tad bit longer like 1.25 inches longer to be more exact.

Default B54

I don't have the amp yet, so I'm still open to ideas. I know the CV isn't considered to be a top of the line amp. But I know it has a good rep as a budget amp.

I was considering it over the B52 because at some point I may want to add something like TP speakers, although I rarely use the TP. Also bridging it.

I will eventually replace my RF DB651s in my faring to a better quality set and I suspect the PA amp will change then as well to a Stinger or 800.4.

I would like to stop doing this in stages and I feel the DDs are a solid choice for lid speakers so if you guys think I should go better with the amp I'm open.

The DD's are a very solid choice for the lids. However, the B54 is better suited to be used bridged, or pushing 4-2ohm speakers. Just isn't enough power for 4-4ohm speakers.

Looking at the specs CV gives for the 2 amps on their website, they have identical dimensions and total output power. The only difference is dividing it by 2 or by 4, and how much it costs.
They both show the same 200w × 2 @4ohm

If you look at the CV website real hard you will notice it has the specs for the B52 listed for both amps. That is why the specs for the B54 at the top of the page don't match what is says at hte bottom. Download the manual and it will have the actual specs.
