Wiring advice.
Ok so I’ve made a solid decision here after going back and forth about what equipment to get. I have all the Rockford stuff in my 2015 ultra at the moment with the exception of the fairing speakers that are hertz hcx. I’m gonna go with sv200.1 8” in my bags along with the fosgate 6x9’s that are there now. I’m going to add a set of st25 horns in the front fairing and replace the hcx with sv 165.1 I have the fosgate 6.5 in my tour pak also. I have a DSR1 a fosgate 400xad 4 hannel amp and a JL audio mx 500/4. I was also thinking of ordering a soundigital 250.2 nano amp for the st25’s. My question is do I need the nano for the horns? Or can I get an in-line crossover. I’m also open to suggestions maybe swap the fosgate amp out for something else but would need a different mount and my budget is tight at the moment.

Probably gonna need to seal one or the other in the bags they will
be fighting over airspace and the 6x9 will suffer. |
Just a suggestion if you're looking for bass in the bags, the 200.1 are not the speakers. I'd look at some prv or GZ yellow baskets.

Those are NOT the 8’s you want inside your bag. I’d strongly reconsider.

If your budget is tight I would skip the Hertz stuff. The GZ or MMats 6.5 or PRV and horns work well at a lower price point so do the 8’s. Get the nano amp for your horns and use your DSR1 to tune it all.

What are your thoughts on Hertz SV 200L I like the GZ but also like that Hertz is sold local.
The SV200L is a good speaker for bass purposes. I had them in my bags and to be honest I did not like them. But when I put them in my lids and or my tour pack lid, they pounded bass. I also had a LOT of power going to them with an SD1200.1. |
