Adding LL's

So, if I were to purchase two BT355's...I assume two, one for front and one for rear channels, could I presumably just install them and not need to adjust anything on my amps? Or is that not possible?

Backstory, I had stinger amp, mmat 601cx in fairing and RK speaker kit in bags done two weeks ago and just had the HU flashed. It sounds great to me, but I want to make sure its a reliable system that I dont have to worry about breaking down on me.

Thanks for all the help.

How is the radio connected to the amp right now? If you dont know the answer to this and you are happy with the sound you have now, I would let it go and be happy with it.

What flash did you have done? Does your radio have the fade option opened up on it? You only need 2 LLs if you will be using/wanting fade.

You would need to re-tune the amps if you add the LLs.

Yes, the gains will need to be set.

Main question to answer first is what flash did you have done.

I think this weekend I'll take the fairing off and get some pics of how this thing is set up. I also want to get pictures of where the amp settings are.

I think he used some install bay line out converters, just not exactly what they're for.

As far as the flash, I'm not sure there either, but yes I do have fade..

I just keep reading things like not using line levelers might over heat the amp or cause speakers to blow and want to make sure I cover all my bases.

It depends on what flash you have whether you need the line levelers or not. You need to find out just what flash was installed on the HU. The reason that a line leveler is needed is, Stock hd boom radios have a built in equalizer program to enhance the lower frequencies to sound better with their stock setup. When you add an amp and aftermarket speakers, that will cause low frequency distortion that will eventually over power the amp or speakers and blow one or the other. A line leveler flattens out that boosted low end frequency allowing aftermarket setups to operate without blowing them. You very well may have a flash on you HU that already flattens out that EQ curve.

So find out just what flash you have as that will determine what you do next.

Ahh sorry. Lol. As far as I know, the flash he used was 4 speakers no amp. But if you're looking for a "name" or branded flash I have no idea. I know I saw the name of the software he was using, but dont remember it.
