Default need to update system

Hello folks, since its winter and I'm getting ready to do some work on bike i thought i would revisit my sound system and do some more tuning as believe it could use it. Currently have a stinger 700/4 channel amp, hertz hcx165 co-axials in fairing, BT 355LL's two of them, and alpine r-s65 in the tour pack. My question is what current boom software update our you all running? Haven't been to this site for over two years and thought i would see what everyone is running software wise. Thank you for your time and replies.

Maybe I need to clarify that I haven't been in the audio section for the last two years been mostly in the mechanical and other sections. Last update that everyone was using was like 19.1 and just wanted to know if people are still using that one or have they found a later update that works well with their sound systems in a Rushmore bike with stock HU.

i don't think the updates have anything to do with the sound, its the flash that's in the HU that changes things, if it were me i'd be running the latest software updates, and probably remove the LL'ers and go with the Rf flash. re tune and see how you like it. I'm sure others will chime in that know a lot more than i do about it.

Thank you, I'm rereading the official 2014 audio thread as it has been added to since i last looked at it. At the time i stopped reading there was discussion that some of the moco updates were messing with the RF flash, etc. so wanting to find out what is the latest standard to do. When i put system in it was BT355LL and no flash. Just wanting to make sure what's good to do now as I'm reading small blurbs about adjusting the LL which was a no no back then and maybe how to adjust them.

As Mike stated, the software updates wont change the signal from the HU to the speakers. 2 years ago, no one or very few shops had the technology to change the flash on boom hu's. That is why the bt355 line leveler was highly recommended. In todays world most indy shops have the tools to change the hu flash so no LL is needed. I suggest keeping your setup as it is a good one and having your hu flashed. That way you can eliminate the LL all together so to have the cleanest sound you can without any filtering. Just be sure to retune the amp and you should notice a big difference.

Thank you and what is the specific name or type of flash that i need to get? There was quite a few different flashes being thrown around back then.

As things seem to change daily, I would get with someone who has the proper tools have installed various flashes on bikes. Different setups will require different flashes and i personally dont know what the best is for your setup.

id say if you want to retain the fade option, then the rockford flash 14 and up is a popular one.

I was going to recommend that flash or a 8/2 flash but I hear thru the grapevine that RF is coming out with a better version of their boom flash and since I dont have the tools to flash, I just referred him to those in the know.
