What's the latest word on Ground Zero 6.5" Coax GZCF?
Originally was going to install a cheap amp and some Polk MM1 speakers in my 14' Ultra Limited. I just installed the Soundstream HDHU head unit, and after going back and forth on amp/speaker combos, I was ready to purchase a Stinger 700.4 amp and the GZs yellow basket coax in the fairing. I found that the bike had stage 1 speakers on it which I was gonna leave them in the tourpack, run the GZ's bridged off the Stinger and run the tourpack stage 1's off the headunits built in 50w amp. Ready to pull the trigger today and while flipping thru some threads, I saw quite a few people have had issues with the GZs. I still plan on getting the Stinger, but am wondering if the GZ's are still having issues. I see a lot of recommendations for them which is why I was gonna buy them. Anybody know if they've fixed/changed anything on them?

A lot of GZ's in bikes, the ones with problems were loud and posted many times. If you are going to run Gz's on a 4 speaker system the stinger is no a good pick. The GZ.s like 200 plus watts. The stinger and 4 Mmats PA601.4cx with the stinger is a very good budget system.

I would run them in fairing only, with Stinger bridged 2x350W.

Watching this thread. Upgrading a 2013 Ultra and bought (4) CS yellow baskets. Almost pulled trigger on Stinger. Thinking two SD EVOX 400.4 but more money. Don't mean to hijack, just watching.

I wouldnt run them at 350w either. The sweet spot from them is 200-250 and 350 is a bit much in my opinion.

just because you have 350.does not mean you have to use all of it. 200- 250 is where I keep my GZ's and the sound good. With a great tune 300-325 is probably ok but are the gains worth it I am not sure.

Ground Zero clearly they shows their wattage recommendations, but because some guys are dumping 200w rms to them and they last, everyone should do it? then when they blow at double the recommended rms, it's a quality issue??? there are some super knowledgeable members here, no doubt about it, but I can't help but find it funny all the shaming that happens when someone feeds them the manufacturer recommended wattage
