2011 FLHTP Sony radio install with hand controls
Hello everyone. Recently sold my Fat Bob and purchased a 2011 FLHTP (no ABS). I'm interested in adding a few "civilian" touches (gauges, cruise, tour pack) but the one I am most interested in installing is a radio WITH the hand controls. I spoke with a techie at the motor company and they said that for an Advanced Audio radio I would have to purchase an Ultra Overlay Harness (PN 70160-98A) so that the controls may function properly. I'd also have to purchase the OEM controls as well. The kit I am interested in installing is the standard Biketronics FLHT radio package (which supposedly will allow use of the hand controls)

I know a number of people on this forum have installed these kits and generally like the sound quality. What am I missing from this short list of required parts in order to install this radio kit with an OEM hand control?
Also, if my intention is to add gauges, cruise control, etc, later on is there an additional harness that is required?
I do have the touring service manual but have not yet received the police supplement so I thought I would ask the forum. All your insights are appreciated.
Thank You!

Bike already has mechanical cruise. It is the thumb wheel below throttle. Thumb it counter clockwise to tighten til the grip no longer returns and holds its' position. Once you find that position, 1 thumb spin the opposite direction will free the throttle to snap closed. Put tweeters in the 2 empty gauge pods and stereo install is simple, 3 wires and the speaker connections.
