Best 2 channel amp for the money?

I am running an ARC KS 125.2 amp and am very pleased with it. My buddy wants a new amp. What is the best amp for the money and who's giving the best price now?

Thanks,

Scott

I just installed an Elf 2125XN. Got it on ebay. Was $199, but made an offer for $169 and the seller accepted. I think it sounds great, but I dont have anything to compare it to (aside from the stock harley radio and the JVC headunit with no amp). I understand that the Rockford Fosgate PBR300X2 is pretty good too and can be had for the same price.

I would go with the Arc audio. If you look at the specs of the Arc and the Rockford, the power output is near the same. But the signal to noise ratio (S/N) on the Arc is better. The higher the number, the cleaner the sound. Loud is no good if it's not clean. The elf is a similar amp to the ARC, but from what I have read on this forum and cpl others, the durability isn't quite as good.

If you can find a new ARC Mini for anywhere near $169 shipped to your door then do it. Otherwise the RF 300X2 is the best 2 channel amp going at that price point. 150 watts into 2 ohms per channel. I own both amps (actually the ROKKER version of the arc) And if I have to buy another 2 channel amp it will be the RF without hesitation.

If you want to Rockford check with Sonix Electronics. They don't show the lowest price, but you can summit a "price guarantee". They usually match it. I got my PBR300x2 for 150 and my 6.5 Polk speakers for 119.

I paid 169 for my pbr300x2 and thought that was a deal..but I really like my setup with the mm651 speakers.

Keep in mind that some of these outlet stores are selling surplus units and they may not have a warranty on them. Just sayin....

Also, my two cents, the Arc is much better than the RF.

You can always take the money saved and buy a square trade warranty..

Has anyone ever had to file a claim with Square Trade for a bad amp? Does it have to be professionally installed?
