New Stereo! Install and Review of new BT7P1 (Titan II 7.1)
(Build in progress - will update here when finished installing and reviewed)
First off - many many thanks to the guru's here. UN, GP, HPM, etc. I was *very* close to buying a system i know i would've been frustrated with!
A lot of digging, a lot of stupid questions later...
My bike - 06 EGC, My Setup:
HU - Kenwood Excelon KDC-X997
(Requirements were HD Radio, Bluetooth, and Pandora)
Biketronics gear:
RetroRadio kit BT-1005
Titan II BT7P1 7.1 speakers
Biketronics 6x9 BT479 (just speakers)
Amp - BT4180
Cycle Sounds 6x9 lids (BT479's after paint)
Bike was my brothers and had a less-than-fun get-off at around 50mph when a big rig tried to share the right lane with him. He was OK (couple stitches in knee) and bike was rideable. Insurance totalled it and i bought it back for a song. It will never be a show bike, but excited to have a cruiser to compliment the 1125R.
So it's at the paint shop which makes installing a stereo WAY easier!
Here comes pics of the gear:
Box o' goodies from BT
Laid out to take a look at
Unboxing the BT7P1's
Next up will be the install from Yesterday. Less pics (hope someone with Dial-up hasn't tried to read this thread...).
Going to have to break this up a bit as i'm not finished with the install, but will have a lot of pics if you want to see any of the gear, and hope to include some video clips for anyone who wants to see/hear this setup.

Bike as it was yesterday:
Stripped and ready for paint. There's a lot of X's here and there. Some minor, some not (like the inner fairing - PITA, but swapped now! - thanks bubbas1!!)
gear laid out to install
I took a bunch of pics of the fairing and cables so i could reference later when routing and re-doing cabling. Happy to provide if anyone gets lost and needs it, but will spare you the dirty/dusty/boring... Going right into the speaker install on pristine Inner Fairing:
All swapped old fairing to new. (wish i'd had all the LED's to swap, but will do that another day).
Action Shots!
Even with all the info here, we usually did something wrong/backwards!
The step by step guides from BT helped, but we ran out of time yesterday and hope to finish up later this week after work if I can find time.
Got the old HU out, new HU in (no pics of it yet), and need to finish buttoning up all the wiring.
Next up will be wiring in the amp, running power/ground, running speaker wire back for lids.
Hope to have the paint finished in next 2-4 weeks (depending on buddy's workload).
Been a while since i've installed stereo equipment. After reading GlacierPearl's install i figured i could do it too if i went slow. Thanks again GP!
That's it for now. Will get more pics as i finish and update here.

LOL - thanks UN!
Yes she sure is cold all nekkid n stuff. silly pink X's all over... but will be looking better than ever soon! (basalt metallic black)
Love my brother's face in that one, trying to remember what he was doing, or if he pinched his finger when our 3rd brother took the pic. I remember those cables were a PITA... at this point caught down on the brake as i went to fish them back through the fairing.
Hope to finish it on Friday if i can stay out of work (supposed to be my day off).

LOL - it would be a lot more plug and play if i didn't also have to replace the inner fairing in order to install the stereo... Unfortunate circumstances which led to me getting the bike, but a fun project in progress.
Sorry to keep you guys waiting. I was hoping to complete it this weekend but everyone busy w/ Mom's day and couldn't get into the shop to finish it.
I promise i'll give you a review as soon as i'm finished. More of a "build and review", but still need to finish the build first...
Got a little bit of time Friday after work - got the amp mounted, and started pulling a new power wire for it. Could've used the wire they provided, but like to go overkill and had an 8g kit i thought would work well. Working on it as time permits, so my apologies for the slow install/build everyone!
