For those who have done it, I'm curious as to how.

I have my own idea of pulling the two speaker pins from the 6 pin connectors to the rear pods and creating a 2 pin connectors from that. Those connectors would feed the amp with the return signal heading back to two 2 pin connectors leading to wires that have replaced the 2 pins pulled from the 6 pin connectors. In other words, if I wanted to isolate the amp, I would simply disconnect the 2 pin connector feeds and returns and connect the remaining 2 pin connectors to put it back to stock. I'm thinking of wiring the saddlebag speakers from the connector closest to the 6 pin connector for the rear pods. Sounds confusing, especially since I'm sure I didn't explain it well.

I guess pictures when I'm doing it would make more sense. Basically I'm routing the signal from the NUOH to the amp without cutting any existing wires. All I'm doing is pulling the pins for the rear speakers, making 2 pin connections that route to the amp. The feed from the amp with go to a 2 pin connector that connects to the existing 6 pin for the pods and I'll splice in a feed for the saddlebag speakers. I can run the system without the rear amp by simply disconnecting the 2 pin connectors to the amp and the 2 pin connectors remaining will mate. Clear as mud, I'm sure.

 

What's the payoff ???

 

I guess I'm still confused moreso as to why you want to go through all this...

Simply run speaker wires back there with quick disconnects and be done with it.

Maybe I'm missing the point here.

 

I have to get the signal from the NUOH to the amp and then from the amp to the two sets of speakers and I want to do it without cutting anything. For the life of me, I can't think of another way to it where I could still remove the tour pack and/or saddlebags and still keep the passenger controls on the pods. That's why I posted this thread; to see if how someone else may have done it.

 

No cutting and the tour pack and saddlebags can easily be removed. The pod controls will still work. Like I said, I just can't think of another way.

 

The 'pod controls working' is the first thing I eliminated !! She is NOT allowed to touch any buttons !!

 

mysteriously my remote for my Sony never works when we go on trips too!

I'm assuming one day she'll catch on but til that day comes.. no access to switching tunes!
