Take the following from someone that's been there. I'm all for blazing your own path (when feasible)...but If that AMP is to tight between the fairing supports...don't go at it with a hammer. PLEASE don't go at it with a hammer. If you jack up your inner fairing mounts trying to bend/wrench/tweak etc, you WILL be sorry. You could cost yourself a chitload of money in repairs... Those mounts are pretty sturdy but they are only attached to plastic. You don't want to be running around on a scoot with even one broken support screw...it will compound into many more problems in the long run. Even if the Amp itself can be squeezed in between the supports, but the wiring is going to be kinked or crammed in don't do it. You'll end up breaking the connectors in the amp, on the wiring harness, or causing a rub which will lead to a short etc. Not worth it. If it doesn't fit send it back and wait/watch for someone to get the Soundstream back in stock.

Thanks, I was J/K about the hammer! It looks like the PPI is 1/4 inch longer than the S.S. according to Ultra (thanks!), so I hope it's gonna be doable.

Edit: Didn't mean to hijack the thread, I'd vote Soundstream if they were available, RF otherwise.

some of these are great amps just as the JL Audio is however I think what he was going for was "what fits in the fairing" and the JL 600s dont, either the HD or the XD. The XD 400 fits from what I've seen but even so with some significant modifications to the speedo and tach housings and instruments themselves. Not willing to expose my gauges to moisture for the sake of audio...

the physical dimensional length of the SS 4.520D from end of terminal block to end of RCA jacks is 10.75" add another 3/4" for RCA cable ends and 1/4" for slight room on the terminal block side and you're looking at 11-3/4" total length

so -

10.75" L x 1-3/8" H x 4-7/8" W

Hey Nutz, you da man! I was gonna ask if you could measure up an SS amp, thanks. Here's the funny part, the PPI i520.4 I bought measures 10 1/2 inches from the RCA jacks to the end of the terminal block, that's less than the SS! Now I need to check on the width, I know the SS is thinner but the PPI has a tapered case that may help me out.
