soundstrea amp and fm distortion
hello
I just read a class D amplifier (ex. sound stream amp) should not be placed onto a radio in a fairing due to distortion with radio frequency. Has anyone experienced this or someone who has first hand knowledge about this. This seems the only way to go in an Ultra. thanks for all feedback Joe |
Distortion ??? ...no..............fm reception,..............hit or miss ...
PS...there are LOTS of ways to go on an Ultra !! |
I had the Soundstream 4.520 installed in my fairing. I had no FM/AM/WB signal whatsoever with it.
It's a great little amp if you don't use FM. IMO, it's not hit or miss. I've seen one member on this forum post that their FM was unaffected. One. |

I'm running the PPI i520, which is a clone of the Soundstream. I have not lost a single station, and I run from 92 up to 106 mhz. I don't know if I am just lucky, or if there is some difference between the 2 amps, but they look to be the same basic amp, just different cases.
