Installed Biketronics 2014 BT7P14 Speaker and BT2180 Amp Upgrade
Installed biketronics 2014 BT7P14 Speaker and BT2180 Amp Upgrade today. Easy installation. It's easily twice as loud as the stock setup. Distortion free. How could it not be? Harley should be ashamed of themselves for putting those weak *** 5 1/4 speakers in there. Using cycle sounds magic box to get around the stock radio DSP issue. Has anybody found that actually getting the radio flashed sounds better than using the magic box? If so I'll probably get it flashed next time I have it in for service and take the magic box out.
I spoke to Bill at Biketronics about wrapping the speakers in polyfill and he said they didn't find much difference using their speakers so I didn't do it. But I see a lot of folks here swear by it. Does it really make that much of a difference?

wall mart has it as well - it is called batting (for quilts). just 3 layers (not sure about the thickness of the batting) folded up, wrap around speaker and you are done.

I just bought a bag at Wally world 2 days ago. I think it's called Poly fill. It's like $3.98 for the smallest bag. It's in the fabric/sewing area. And the small bag has about 3x the amount you will need to do the job. It's a large sheet inside the bag, probably about 4' by 6'. I cut squares about 12 to 15 inches and I'll stack 3 layers for each speaker. I'm finally going to be putting the bike back together tonight after my pbr300x2 install. ;-)
