You can put pretty light boost on the aerocharger using the various springs and shims. I don't know what the OP plans on running but I think you can go as light as 5-7 lbs. The Aerocharger guys are on the forum and can answer that.

5 pounds is the lowest they offer I will be doing 7.5 with a inter-cooled.. You can go to 8 without a welded crank. I have seen them as high as 10 but don't think i would push that..

Going with a small side dump this is going to get interesting

I have gone up to 20 (by mistake) and the crank survived, but I'd not recommend it full time.

You should be fine running under 10 without welding the crank, although i would not recommend above 8 without an intercooler.

Only thing that will guarantee your crank from slipping is not starting your bike. If the crank is going to slip a weld isn't going to stop it, its only for peace of mind.

Crank didn't slip, but now the warranty is void because it was welded.
