I usually have mine put away by Halloween. The weather is supposed to be real nice this coming week, so I have put it off for at least another week.

The 1st of November - regardless

I change all the fluids, put a couple extra pounds in the tires, give it a good cleaning, plug in the battery tender, throw a sheet over it, and that's it. It's always ready for a ride on those occasional clear, clean (roads), winter days. http://i68.tinypic.com/jsy5mt.jpg http://i64.tinypic.com/29pc94m.jpg all plug in the battery tender:icon_toast: |
Depends on the weather; last fall it happened on Halloween. Plug in the battery tender, throw the cover on and see ya in spring.

Forgive the ignorance, but are you storing it in heated garages and storage units? Or does it matter as long as the bike has adequate shelter?
We are having a lil disagreement over here. (Saskatchewan Canada) |
It doesn't matter. But it sure is nice to have a place that is accessible and heated so you can 'play' on your bike during the off season.

much appreciated

We are having a lil disagreement over here. (Saskatchewan Canada) Been wintering bikes and collector cars in unheated storage for over 30 years with no ill effects. |
I insured my pretty late this year and because I do 3 months at a time I'll insure it again in August and ride till Nov. 16.
