Sturgis 17 ?
#2
At one time it was on my bucket list but not anymore. After hearing horror stories from friends that have made the trek I have re-considered.
A close friend of mine booked a campsite almost a year in advance only to find out when they got there it had been given away to someone that got there ahead of them. They ended up in what they call an overflow area. Also, when it rained there, which is everyday, they could not even get to their site due to a mud hill they would have to climb with the bike! And as you can guess his bike was absolutely covered in mud. Sounds like fun huh? I think not!
Have been advised by many if you want to go do it other then the Sturgis bike week. Just my two cents. Good luck if you go and safe riding!
Cheers, Terry

17 will be an "off" year, so it probably won't be quite as busy as the "anniversary" years (the ones ending in 5 or 0). That said, it will still be crowded, no doubt and it will probably rain during the rally at some point, as it always does. But I always have a great time, and for me its always worth it. There are several campgrounds that will have space. Some are party campgrounds, some bring in big concerts, some are quiet. Just know what you are looking for in the sturgis experience and pic the spot that best suits your needs and wants.
