Default Need help finding float valve seat

I'm working on a 1992 Fatboy with a CV40 carb PN#27038-92 that has a fuel leak issue. Rebuilt the carb and cleaned the valve seat but still leaking. While I was in there the valve seat openning (the opening that the needle covers to shut off fuel) seemed oblong and not perfectly round but I chalked it up to my vision. Put it all back together and still leaking. I'm thinking the valve seat needs replacing but can't find one and the diagrams don't show this part.

Any help with a part number or info as to where to locate one would be greatly appreciated.

there is no replacement as I looked for one a few years back. for my 91 sportster
I found a slightly used CV for $80.00 problem solved.

Also the later model CV had a better float chamber( no more overflow as the 91 original did sometimes

Visual inspections on these kind of things can be tricky because of distorted optical perspectives. It may look defective, but is the valve seating? That is the real test. I have verified that the float valve is seating and working by gently blowing into or spraying carb cleaner into the fuel line fitting and checking to see if seating the valve interrupts the flow as I gently manipulate the float.

Getting the float adjusted correctly can be tricky as I am experiencing with a SE CV-44 carb right now. I didn't even know there was a problem until I replaced the vacuum actuated petcock valve with a manual one...dumped about a quart of gas on my garage floor before I caught it...

Maybe, (and this is a slim maybe) you might have some luck checking out the keihin Kawasaki Vulcan CVK carb. It is nearly identical to the Harley carb. Maybe a Kawasaki dealer has the part or a part number? Good luck in your search. YD
