Default 1994 Ultra with cruise control - carb change?

Hi all

I want to keep the use of the stock cruise control on the bike, which is connected to the carb.

I want to replace the high mileage stock carb. Was looking at a Mikuni HSR 42 (as I use one on another bike and like it) but cannot see how I could keep the cruise control hookup?

what have others done by way of replacing stock carbs yet keeping the use of the cruise control?

Thanks in advance

I called Sudco. No adaptor available to use cruise control with Mikuni HSR 42 on my 94 Ultra.

S & S do the smaller Super E, and have an adaptor available to hook it up with the cruise control connections on my 94 Ultra.

I know my way around a Mikuni flat slide carb, but have never even seen an S & S carb, Super e or whatever. Anyone have experience with both? If so, how do they compare?

Paul, visit the Evo forum, where our experts hang out, they are sure to be able to help. A later CV carb is an alternative.

If your looking art new carb i wouldn't hesitate on a S&S super E...... Especially if you could still utilize the cruise with it. I don't think any other carb compares.....

High milage on a CV carb is not a problem...there are very few wear parts and those are easy to procure and install. So, unless you just have a lot of cash laying around and want to replace a good carb in order to gain modest improvements in performance, your CV will keep you riding just fine for many years.
