Default No fuel to the carb

I got a 2005 sportster 1200 custom. I'm not getting fuel to the carb. Tank is full and petcock is new. Vacuum line hooked to the pump on the petcock.

Do you have vacuum and have you disconnected the fuel line to verify fuel runs out of the hose with vacuum applied in the on or res position?

FYI always test before you fill the tank....

You can mod the vacuum petcock so it operates like a conventional non vacuum petcock. Google will tell you how. I would do that for at least diagnostic purposes. YD

It ended up to be a pin hole in the vacuum line. Replaced it and now is all good. Thanks for the info.

Best is to replace the EPA petcock with a manual one and just remember to shut the fuel off.
A drawback to the vac operated fuel valve is at high throttle settings the fuel shuts off from lack of vac.

I've had a vacuum operated petcock on Reaper since day one (first the OEM then, a few years ago, I installed a Pingel), and have had her at WOT PLENTY of times. She NEVER starved for fuel due to a lack of vacuum shutting the petcock off.

Cheers!

One can also just replace it with a traditional petcock and plug the vacuum line.
