Just bought my first Harley, been riding for a few years though. It's a 2000 wide glide with 24k on it. SS 510 cams, screaming eagle ignition and wires, and a thunder header. I'd like to put an intake on too keep up with the other performance upgrades and help her breath. Any suggestions ? Factory carb as far as I know of, jets and all.

 

The stock carb is good for engines up to 100 hp. You can spend your money on a nice mikuni, but the CV-40 is really a good carb, easy to tune and moves a nice amount of fuel/air based on tuning.


Just a rejet will make a big improvement 45/46 idle/pilot and 175 to 185 main. It varies based on how the bike responds and plug reading, etc. YD

 

Where's a good place to purchase new jets ? After the rejet and adjustments are there any specific air cleaners that have a good reputation with the CV carbs ? Thanks for the help.
