Default getting confused

ok maybe I've been working on this too long, when I put the smaller pipes with mufflers on my 94 FLSTC took off 2 in. no baffle ( can see the pipes in thread whitch why or who gives a) the first 250 miles didn't see a lot of change in the way the bike ran but she was popping thru the exhaust so I started to adjust the mixure screw, when I screwed it in no change, started at 2 turns out and 1/8 a turn at a time adjusting the idle speed then riding around to see how it runs, still not right. seems to rich, when you screw the mixure screw in are you making it richer or leaner/ when you screw the mixure screw out are you making it richer or leaner.

You've restricted the exhaust and should re-jet the carb with smaller jets.

I'm at 1 and3/8 from starting at 2 turns and screwin it in 1/8 turn at a time then ridin round the block without the pipes crackeling might take it one more 1/8, when is it screwed in to much that a jet is the only thing to be done. I put 100 miles on her with the last adjustment that was way too rich at 2 and7/8 turns out, and 300 on her befor I started to work with it , wish I would have counted the turns out, it was at then.

The more you turn it out the richer it'll get. And around the block may not be getting the engine hot enough.

You may be kind of screwed. When the Stage 1 is done the hole, (can't remember which) is enlarged for more gas flow as well as larger jets.

Usually the fuel elbow is changed to a high flow elbow and the vacuume hole on the back side of the slide is sometimes drilled a touch larger for snappier slide response.

got the 44 in her, and while I was at it I shortnd the throttle cables as I had been runnin them adjusted all the way out since I put the bars on her, I found a broken bolt on the exhaust ancor so the pipes came back off drilled the bolt out and re tapped the hole, put new gaskets on exhaust pipes intake to carb and float bowl set the air mix screw at 2 turns out then 1/8 turn in and rode across town the bike would hesitate or stumble at a steady speed with barley open throttle I stopped and turned 1/8 in and it got worse and still crackeling out the pipes every time I back off the throttle got to where I was going and turn it out 3/8 turns still stumbled but better still crackeled turned 1/8 out and back to a across town run last ride the stumble was gone still crackels out the pipes with every back off the throttle but no loud back fire, goin to let her sit tonite and try again tomorrow.
