Default Edelbrock

I am working on a friends bike, it has been sitting for several years. 1999 softail with an Edelbrock carb Qicksilver 38mm. I have been searching for a rebuild kit and I'm reading Edelbrock got out of the motorcycle/atv carb business. Is this true? If so is anybody selling rebuild kits for this carb? Thank you in advance for any info.

I had a new Edelbrock carb many years ago, as part of an engine upgrade by a well known local builder. I never could get the darned thing to run right and nor could other specialists I visited. I can't help with spare parts for your friend, but if you can't find a rebuild kit don't have any hesitation in swapping over to a current carb, such as a CV, S&S or Mikuni. Plenty of expertise in HDF on all of them.

I had an Edelbrock and I loved that thing! I had zero problems tuning it and it worked great for a long time.

Then, I had to rebuild it because the needle/seat had worn out. I searched high and low and couldn't find a rebuild kit to save my life. I ended up selling the entire carb on ebay for like $50.00 around five, or so, years ago.

Good luck finding a rebuild kit for it because I gave up on finding one several years ago.

Just put an S&S E on and get it over with. You'll love the performance upgrade....
