Default Installing a mikuni carb on a s&s 111

I just installed a MIKUNI 45 MM carburetor on an S&S 111. Interesting to say the least. The heads on the S&S engine are bigger than the stock EVO heads. I had to shorten the intake manifold of the MIKUNI to get it to fit the larger heads on the engine. Took me awhile to figure out what needed to be done and why. If you should happen to do this task make sure you fit the manifold to the heads first. I shortened the ends around .125 thousands on each end. After the shortening the manifold and bolts fit in properly. The rest was easy. You may want to install a smaller pilot jet right away before you put the carburetor on. Enjoy.

SnS likes to use a set the piston CH then use cylinder length to accommodate different strokes.. Don't surprise me that you had to trim the manifold a bunch as the piston ch is likely the same as a 124..
