So i have this 01 fxdwg (carbed) and have been slowly working on it, as the history of the previous owner is not avail...gaskets,seals,drips,fluids changed out...blah blah..vacuum leaks on intake, carb. and exh. manifold fixed....but bike ran crappy...when it was on jiffy stand,,terrible, but when i sat upright it ran a bit better, so i took the bottem of my carb off,,and low and behold, this is what i found,,(pict below) .i changed out the 48 slow jet to a new one and cleaned insides and 190 jet ..after doing this,,,WOW! bike ran great,,now for test ride..will update asap...so i guess what i am trying to get at is if you have an older gas tank...look inside or take bottom of carb off and see whats going on...it may not be lean/rich..but some other thing..

 

Not uncommon for bikes to need carb cleaned and fuel dumped.

 

I know its old, with my 107 build, I am going to start finish break in, LONG STORY,
is there a additive I can safely add to fuel to clean, injecxtors/throttle body etc?
also want to go up one size, and from 46 to 50, since the Rb Racing pipes HOT DAMM, grab throttle, it screams ZERO HESITATION!,
not like other, after market pipes, im sure now ill need more fuel, and get more air in there,,
as it certainly rips!!
